What happened
The customer rang us about an engine light, misfiring and spluttering. They rely on the car every day, so a long wait for a workshop slot was not an option.
After diagnosing the misfire we found oil where it should never be. The rocker cover gasket had let go and oil was running into the spark plug wells, soaking the plugs and the ignition coils around them.
Replacing only the plugs would have fixed it for a short while. We replaced the gasket that caused it, then fitted new plugs and coil packs. We sourced the parts and finished the job on the same day.
